ABOUT ME AND MY PRACTICE

I grew up in a medical environment as I come from a long line of doctors (going back hundreds of years) and my father continues to practise as a highly respected surgeon.

I qualified as a doctor in China in 2005 after more than ten years of training.

Every part of each condition needs to be considered, that is why I treat the whole body not just one symptom.

I will always explain exactly what the patient will need to know about their condition and give a treatment accordingly.

A consultation before we start involving pulse testing, questionnaires and tongue examination will ensure understanding of the condition.

A treatment could be a combination of acupuncture (fine needles inserted into specific points in the body), acupressure, cupping, Guasha therapy and also herbal medicine may be considered.

Typical conditions treated:

  • IBS

  • Pain Relief

  • Stress

  • Gynaecological Problems – Infertility

  • Sinusitis

  • Weight Loss Addictions

ACUPUNCTURE is a treatment derived from ancient Chinese medicine. Fine needles are inserted at certain sites in the body for therapeutic or preventative purposes. It involves stimulating sensory nerves under the skin and in the muscles of the body. This results in the body producing natural substances, such as pain-relieving endorphins. It's likely that these naturally released substances are responsible for the beneficial effects experienced with acupuncture. A course of acupuncture usually creates longer lasting pain relief than when a single treatment is used.

GUA SHA THERAPY uses buffalo horn and herbal oil to gently scrape the surface of the skin to increase local circulation. This helps to relax tight muscles and promote detoxification. It is most commonly used for many painful conditions, such as frozen shoulder, muscle injury and general back aches and pains.

CUPPING THERAPY a domed jar is placed upon the skin’s surface to cause local congestion, by creating a vacuum within the jar. Cupping therapy promotes the free flow of Qi (the body’s energy) and blood through the channels. This, in turn, promotes natural detoxification and removal of blockages.

EAR CANDLE THERAPY involves the insertion of a special hollow ‘candle’ into the ear, which is then lit. The flame creates negative pressure which draws out the wax and debris from within the ear canal system, restoring balance and wellbeing to the individual.

HERBAL MEDICINES a wide range of herbal medicines can be prescribed and purchased.

CLIENT TESTIMONIALS

“As one of Monica’s clients last summer, I would just like to say how grateful I am for her help with improving my “poorly” knees, damaged by too much marathon running! After her treatment in June and July, in August I walked the 100 miles South Downs Way from Winchester to Eastbourne in four and a half days, with NO problems at all with my knees (22.2 miles per day average)!! In the last two months, I have been trying to become fitter and have been walking 10 miles, at a fast pace, three times per week AND still without problems. Many thanks Monica!”

B.C. (Eastbourne)

“I see Monica for an ongoing digestive issue and am gaining tremendous benefit. And as a side effect of the treatments having for many years smoked more than 20 cigarettes a day, I am now finding it difficult even to finish one. I have also lost weight which I feel is a massive bonus”.
M. Eastbourne

“Suffering from Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS)I was unable to conceive. I have found Monica’s treatments to be great benefit for my whole body but most importantly my pregnancy occured naturally”.
