A Six-week course, running every Friday 1-2pm for expectant Mums from Trimester two.
Pregnancy yoga is a beautiful practice to allow a woman to gentle move and breathe in harmony with her body and connect to her baby. Each session will cover safe asanas (postures) helping your physical strength and prepare for labour. Pranayama (breathing techniques), relaxation, meditation and pregnancy yoga philosophy will help prepare you emotionally.
The classes are suitable for all, experienced yogi or beginner. To be pregnant is to be on the journey to the real heart of yoga, although the pregnant physical body has limitations that prompt modifications of postures, and the practice is slower, the openness of heart, mind and spirit that accompanies pregnancy leads to the heart of yoga. To “yoke” mind, body and spirit to live a conscious awareness of unity and connectedness.
A small supportive group with regular information sent to each participant. The course runs as a six-week block, woman may wish to continue with the pregnancy yoga up to due date and have the option of repeating another 6 sessions or the option of attending on a drop-in basis from 34 weeks.
The investment for the six-session course is £60.
